Sustainable Wood Harvesting
Tide Mill Enterprise’s wood harvesting operation is managed and operated by Robert and Terry, each of whom have over thirty-five years of experience in many facets of the forest industry, with a focus on sustainable wood harvesting since 2000. The purpose of our business is to make money by harvesting wood in a safe, environmentally friendly, sustainable manner, following best management practices.
For ten years Bob and Terry have operated a cut-to-length (CTL) wood harvesting operation, which utilizes the techniques of environmentally responsible woodland management.
CTL is a mechanized harvest system in which trees are cut, delimbed and cut to length in the forest. CTL two-machine operation with a harvester cutting, and a forwarder to transport the logs to a landing area accessible by trucks .
